FAQ

Guiding you with clarity:
Your most important questions, answered.

  • Do Sara and Bas conduct therapy & coaching sessions together, or can I choose who to work with?
While we each bring unique qualities to our sessions, we typically conduct therapy and coaching sessions individually. However, we sometimes collaborate for specific cases where both of our perspectives can enhance the process. If you have a preference to work with either one of us, or would like to explore the possibility of a combined approach, we encourage you to share your preference. We are happy to tailor the experience to suit your needs and comfort level.
  • How are physical boundaries handled in Sensory Body Mapping and Sensual Massage Therapy?
In Sensory Body Mapping and Sensual Massage Therapy, we begin every session with a thorough discussion of your intentions, boundaries, and comfort levels. You are always in full control, and nothing will happen that you do not explicitly consent to. We encourage open communication throughout the entire session, and if at any point you feel uncomfortable, we will adjust the process or stop immediately. Your safety, consent, and comfort are our top priorities. It’s important to note that NO sexual acts of any kind will be performed during these sessions.
  • Is Sensory Body Mapping suitable for people new to exploring their bodies or who feel hesitant about touch?
Yes, absolutely. Sensory Body Mapping is designed to meet you exactly where you are in your journey with physical intimacy. Whether you're new to exploring your body or feel hesitant about touch, the experience is fully guided and tailored to your comfort level. We create a non-judgmental, safe space where you can explore and understand your body's responses without any pressure. The focus is on curiosity, communication, and developing a deeper awareness of what feels good for you.
  • Is Individual Therapy & Coaching also beneficial for relationship struggles?
Yes, Individual Therapy & Coaching can be very effective for addressing relationship issues. Often, personal patterns, emotional blockages, or limiting beliefs affect relationships. By working on yourself, you can bring more clarity and strength into your relationship. This can also be viewed as one-sided relationship therapy, where the focus is on your personal growth and how it impacts your relationship dynamics.
  • Can I combine multiple services?
Absolutely. Many clients find the most benefit from a combination of services. We will work together to create a customized program that fits your unique journey, offering holistic care across various therapeutic approaches.
  • Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, we offer online sessions for both Individual and Couples Therapy & Coaching. However, our other services, such as Sensory Body Mapping, Guided Psychedelic Journeys, and Sensual Massage Therapy, are only available in person.
  • What can I expect during the first session or intake session?
During the intake for Individual and Couple Sessions, we focus on understanding your unique situation, challenges, and goals. We will discuss what brought you here and work together to outline your desired outcomes. Whether you’re coming as an individual or couple, this session allows us to see if we are a good match and sets the foundation for future work.
  • How many sessions will I need to see change?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients find clarity after just a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. After the initial session, we can give a recommendation based on your situation and the desired outcome.
  • How do you ensure confidentiality during and after our sessions?
Your privacy is protected under ethical guidelines. With your consent, Sara and Bas may discuss your sessions between themselves to provide the most comprehensive care and guidance possible. This collaborative approach ensures you benefit from both of their perspectives, while your privacy and personal details remain fully protected within the practice. Your trust is our priority.
  • I read that Sara and Bas are non-monogamous. How can their therapy and coaching approach be relevant to my monogamous relationship?
While we are open about our non-monogamous relationship style, our practice is built on tools and skills that are applicable to any relationship dynamic. Our experience helps us provide non-judgmental and personalized guidance for every client, whether monogamous, non-monogamous or polyamorous. We focus on your unique relationship goals, challenges, and values, ensuring the tools and support we offer are aligned with your needs and desires, not ours. The core of our approach is fostering emotional resilience, intimacy, and connection in ways that work best for you and your partnership.

At Being Intimate, we believe in the profound transformative power of relationships—both the one you share with a partner and the one you cultivate with yourself.

Our practice, led by an experienced couple, offers a holistic range of therapeutic methods designed to deepen intimacy, improve communication, build resilience, and foster lasting personal and relational growth.

Our Unique Approach

What sets Being Intimate apart is that we are a real couple providing therapy and

coaching, offering a balanced, non-judgmental perspective with both masculine and

feminine insights.

Through a blend of cognitive therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and bodywork

practices infused with conscious kink and tantric techniques, we help you navigate

emotional, physical, and relational challenges. Whether you are single or partnered,

exploring conscious monogamy or ethical non-monogamy, our practice supports

your unique journey through creating a tailored path based on your needs, desires

and challenges.

Our sessions are typically conducted individually—with either Sara or Bas—but our

combined strengths and collaborative approach ensure a well-rounded experience.

As a couple, we model healthy communication frameworks, conflict resolution skills

and intimacy practices, providing a real-life example of a thriving relationship.

Our Mission

We live in a world where most of us haven't learned the skills for authentic

communication, be truly intimate, and create thriving partnerships.

These aren't lessons we learn in school, and often, we haven't had those skills modeled in our upbringing.

Our mission is to change that. We provide practical tools that actually work to foster authentic connection, emotional resilience, and harmonious relationships. Leading by example, we aim to teach the skills that make relationships not just possible but fulfilling and transformative.
